How To Keep Up With Your Housework
How To Keep Up With Your House Work
There is no time for cleaning between work, driving, dinner, kids and time for yourself. The mere thought of it makes you more tired than you already are.
Did you know that the good news is that you don’t have to scrub your entire house everyday. You only need to go over the small things.
Use This Cleaning Checklist To Make Chores Go Faster
1. Set Yourself Up For Success
You want time to wind down after work. Not tackle your chores. You need to make it fun so that it doesn’t feel like a chore. Turn on your favourite music to sing and dance to as you clean.
Once you have your tunes on, grab a garbage bag and just clean the general clutter. Once that is done, if your kids are old enough, get them to pick up their own toys. Make it into a game. Offer a prize for the first child to finish their chore.
If you are someone who scatters clothes all over your bedroom floor, throw them on a hanger and put them away. Once the floors are clear an the clutter gone, you can focus on the stuff that needs to get done.
Now that your clutter is gone, you can tackle your first room, the kitchen. It has the most bacteria but it’s pretty easy to clean up.
Wipe everything as you are cooking dinner, killing two birds with one stone. Unload the clean dishes and load the dirty ones as you go.
A microfiber cloth is perfect to go over your kitchen counters and stove. If you are using your stove, you can go back to it later.
Trade out hand towels once a day to avoid bacteria. Spot sweep the floors and mop up anything sticky.
The bathroom is usually the smallest room in the house and is actually one of the easiest rooms to clean. Grab a damp paper towel and a bottle of cleaner to take care of the entire room.
Scrub the toilet, shower and floors once a week. Pick up any dirty laundry and towels into the clothes basket. If the towel has only been used once, hang it up for further use.
Remove makeup and other clutter from the bench and put it away out of sight. Wipe down where these items have been sitting.
HOW TO KEEP UP WITH HOUSEWORK
Fold any throw rugs and put them neatly on the couch. Fluff cushions so that they are comfortable and look nice.
You can go over the rug and sofa with a handheld vacuum if there are any dirt and crumbs. There is no need for heavy-duty vacuuming every day.
Tidy up magazines and books on your coffee table. Put away anything on the table that shouldn’t be there and give it a quick wipe down.
5. The Bedroom
The last room to clean is your bedroom. You really only need to straighten it up. You will sleep better with your room tidy and un-cluttered.
Make your bed every morning for a good mental start to your day.
Remove any trash on your nightstand. Put any books away and bring them out only when you want to read them.
If you don’t neglect these areas and do them daily, your chores won’t keep piling up.
Take care of everything on this list once a day and have a deep clean once a week.
