2. Clean the Garbage disposal with Lemons or Limes

It is important to keep your garbage disposal clean and clog-free.

Use fresh lemon or lime by cutting into quarters.  With the water running, put the citrus pieces one by one into the disposal.

 

3.  Remove Carpet Stains with Vodka

Blot the stain.  Pour any type of clear alcohol (rubbing alcohol, vodka or white wine), onto the stain.  This will work better than any products in the stores.

 

4.  Remove Water Stains with Shaving Cream

Apply shaving cream to the shower glass.  Let it sit for 15 minutes.  Simply wipe off.

 

5.  Use Baking Soda and Vinegar to Clean the Bath

Mix one cup of vinegar and half a cup of baking soda to hot water.  Pour into the empty bath and let it sit for 5 minutes.  Start filling the tub with hot water until it is a quarter filled and let it sit for a further 5 minutes.  Let out the water and rinse.

6.  Use Baking Soda and Vinegar to Clean the Toilet

Pour the same mix as previously and pour down the toilet.  Let it sit for 15 minutes and flush.

 

7.  Use Essential Oils for a Sparkling Toilet

Mix one cup of baking soda with 15 drops of tea tree essential oil and 15 drops of lemon or orange oil.  Leave the mixture to sit in the bowl for 30 minutes.  Scrub the bowl and flush.

 

8.  Use Aromatherapy for Shiny Sinks and Tubs

Mix baking soda, drops of lemon and basil essential oils with dish soap.  Sponge the mixture onto the surface of your bath and bathroom sink.  Leave for 10 minutes.  Rinse off with water.

 

9.  Steam the Microwave with Lemon Oil

Add 15 drops of lemon essential oil into half a cup of water in a microwave safe dish.  Microwave on high for 5 minutes.  Allow steam to condense on both the inside walls and ceilings of your microwave.  Wipe away.

You can also use essential oils to clean the microwave.

10.  Glass Cleaner

Mix white vinegar, water and drops of essential oil and shake.  Your own DIY glass cleaner!

 

11.  Use Lemon Oil to Degrease Your Oven

Spray a mixture of one cup of water, one cup of vinegar and a few drops of lemon essential oils onto your stove top.  Leave for 15 minutes, then wipe clean.

 

12.  Use Baking Soda to Clean Your Stove top

Pour the baking soda onto the Stove top.  Spray or sprinkle with water until baking soda is wet.  Leave for an hour and wipe.

 

13.  Remove Pet Hair with Rubber Gloves

Simple put on rubber gloves and rub down any areas with pet hair.  Rubber gloves against fabric generate elasticity to gather up the pet hair.

14.  Get Rid of Odours From Upholstery

Combine vinegar, water and your favourite essential oil and simply rub onto upholstery.  Spray the mixture onto the upholstery.  Let it dry and vacuum

15.  Clean Ceiling Fans With a Pillowcase

Using a rag will cause dust to fall onto your furniture and floors.  Instead, use a pillowcase in between the fan blades and wipe one at a time.

16.  Clean Blinds With Socks

Make a 50/50 Water and Vinegar mixture.  Pour some on an old sock.  Dust and dirt will come of your blinds easily.
